Living this pace Running this race Yet over your shoulder Pictures in time Games of the mind We only get older So I’ll try, yes I’ll try Not to let this day go by.

Secrets we shared Times when we cared Some moments lie hidden Loves come and gone Hearts lost and won The things that we wish we’d done I’ll try, yes I’ll try Not to let this day go by

Here within this sanctuary Close the walls and doors around me Stealing roles imaginary Or contemplating, solitary Childish how I wish I could be Anything but me Or even free.

If I have fear It’s when I leave, my room will be empty But for the courage All that I need is here in my hands So I’ll try Yes I’ll try, not to let this day go by
