Q.  Are the preview tracks short versions of the downloadable tracks, and is their fidelity the same?

A.  In general, the answer is no.  The preview track for any song or sound effect available for license here is the same exact length as the track you get when you purchase a track and download it.  They are NOT shortened versions of the same track.  However, for tracks that are longer than six (6) minutes, the preview track will include just the first six minutes of the song.

For any track you purchase here, you can download it in an uncompressed high-fidelity resolution up to 24-bit 192Khz (better than CD quality), whereas the preview tracks are all encoded as 256Kbps MP3 files.  When you purchase a track, you can download it in any or all of the following audio formats:
